The Oh So Exciting Conversations in a Grocery Store...
And so it begins... I am a high school student by day, and a grocery store cashier by night. That's my superpower. Exciting right?I am usually confined to the express lane, which resides within an invisible barrier that I am unable to step out of. Sunday's highlight was the main store manager's food purchase through the lane adjacent to mine. He's the big teddy bear sort of fellow, and has a pretty good sense of humour. It just so happened that he was a penny short with his purchase... Tsk tsk tskThe cashier at the time, my friend Weiner, wasn't going to let him off that easily. But the customer was reluctant. He couldn't muster up the penny. He made a deal that if her till was only short of the penny that he owed, he would pay her $10 the following day. Hah..I have not heard from Weiner whether he has forked over the bill. But I do believe he is a man of his word. At my work, people are pretty cool, well the ones you get along with anyway. Work provides a sort of relief to the normal mundane school life. But that's not to say that it doesn't have it's challenges. The above story is one of many "fun" conversations you become enraptured in.I apologize to those who make a dirty face to this post, this is the most excitement that goes on in a grocery story.
