The "artistic" kids

Today's art class was a rather unusual one. That's not to say that every art class isn't unusual. Every course has it's quirks, and it seems that the freaks seem to gather in one particular one. I admit to being one of those freaks. Everyone in my class gets along quite well, but then again it is the second week of semester 2.

I'm surrounded by a rather easy going group of kids. We comment bluntly on the mis-shapen noses that the latter will unskillfully draw, but hey it's constructive criticism right?

Today's eavesdopping of conversation, was between three boys that sit behind me. It starts out rather...bland; " Yo ___ how's your your day ____" Not exciting, but what the conversation develops into, is a typical boys joke insult about the other's sexuality (eye roll). Somewhere along the conversation, the words "World War IV" is thrown in. No idea why that is brought up, because obviously there hasn't been a WWIII yet.

This conversation is no surprise. Teenagers are pretty linear. We make the casual small talk about course, teachers, weekend festivities, etc. But that's not to say that we are not intelligent. We reserve those meaningful conversations with friends during random times. My friends and I actually managed to cover the effects of the recession in our own lives. It all depends on when you listen in. And I chose.. a rather uneventful time.
