I might be getting ahead of myself but, better to do it early than to procrastinate. I am sadly blogging while I'm supposed to be finishing uni-apps. :'(
I overheard a conversation between a few friends of mine after school today and it was pretty funny. I just caught the exact words of what my friend "Lane" said; and I remembered it because it had some truth behind it. She merely stated "You know what's annoying? When you see an annoying girl imitating another annoying girl." True words have never been spoken deeper.
That theory got my wheels turning. Girls are always jealous of other girls. I'm not sure if it was biologically implanted into us, but it's uncontrollable. I'm not saying that someone may necessarily be jealous of this annoying girl imitator/annoying girl, but that girls have a tendency to just bash other girls just because they have something the other may not. It's absolutely ridiculous... break into the "Why can't we be friends, why can't we be friends" dance routine.
We put down other girls to make vulnerable female selves feel just a little better, at the expense of someone else's confidence. Low blow. I'm not sure what exactly to make of it, but it's what I have observed. When there is no one to blame, do what everyone else does, blame the media!
This could be an natural instinct, as there are fewer females than males in most species; making them competitive, if they are unable to share a mate.
ReplyDeleteBut, Ms C, with human beings there are more females than males.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure what exactly makes girls act like that. Luckily, I've been able to avoid most girl-bashing (at least, as far as I know...). And I prefer bashing crappy bands and books anyway. At least then, there isn't the bands or authors would hear what I say anyway.
Yes, because the media is to blame for everything! Well, kind of. It's a sort of double fault thing, because the media plays with our minds and most of us don't really know to avoid that so we end up following them anyways.
ReplyDeleteGirls are vicious!
